The project on the “Agreement” is one more proof of the imperialistic nature of the Kremlin

The project on the “Agreement between Russian Federation and Republic of Abkhazia on alliance and integration “, being prepared by the Russian side is one more proof of the imperialistic nature of the Kremlin; it at the same time ignores the fundamental principles of the international legislation and rights of the thousands of people being forcedly evicted by means of armed conflict from Abkhazia.

The supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia is deeply worried by the project of the “Agreement”.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council – Jemal Gamakharia distributes an official statement on the project on the “Agreement between Russian Federation and Republic of Abkhazia on alliance and integration “:

The essence and contents of the project of the so-called “Agreement” between Russian Federation and Republic of Abkhazia became known to the wide public. It once more acknowledged what was known before: recognition of independence of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region was and is only a partition, temporary technique maneuver for occupation and annexation of the above mentioned regions of Georgia. The “Agreement” being offered by the Kremlin is to finalize not only de facto, but also de jure the long time process of incorporation of Abkhazia within the Russian Federation.

For achieving the aim the occupant led the country rich with natural and other resources into the total economic bankcrapcy and at the present moment they are offering to the desperate and starving people salvation in return for “integration” with Russia, which necessarily means territorial -administrative absorption of Abkhazia and turning it into the addition of the Krasnodar Region.

The Project of the Agreement” means saying good- bye to even the formal signs of Statehood. It is impossible not to mention here one century old historic fact. On the 16th of November of 1922 the Abkhazians were asked as an ultimatum “from above” to present a conclusion on the” Basics of Agreement on including Abkhazia within Georgia or within the Russian Federation, as the Autonomous Republic.” It seems that it is high time now to turn Abkhazia into the non stately formation included into the Krasnodar Region.

Is it possible to speak about the Statehood of the uncertain territorial formation being formed through the forced eviction of the three fourth of the population? One cannot call the administrative unit a State and especially an “independent” State, if that latter has the Budget of the foreign country, the army of the foreign country, policy of the foreign country, frontier sentry of the foreign country, police of the foreign country, tax and finance system of the foreign country, salaries and pensions of the foreign country, public health service of the foreign country, education system of the foreign country and the citizenship of the foreign country.

According to the plans of the Kremlin the territory of Abkhazia is to be turnend into one of the military footholds for realizing its unbounded ambitions being directed against the West and existing world order.

The so-called “Agreement” maintains strengthening of the administrative borders at the river Enguri, which in fact, is the attempt of limiting the rights to travel and legitimation of the results of the ethnic cleansing.

Judging from the unhomoginious reaction of the Abkahzians the significant and rather influential part of the population understands and realizes the depth of the danger that comes out from the imposed “alliance and integration.” For the dignified persons comprising the majority of the Abkhazians it is difficult not to feel themselves deceived and insulted, when the 21st anniversary of “victory” and “independence” offers the alternative – to starve or integrate with the occupant and when the promised piece of bread directly depends on the integration quality.

The only mean of coping with the existing situation and halting the process of annexation can appear the timely and adequate reaction of the international commonwealth and civilized world. We strongly believe that it is paramount to harden the economical sanctions against Russia and in conditions of cancellation of those sanctions include liberation from occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region.

From its side the legitimate population of Abkhazia, such as the IDP’s will never reconcile with the annexation of their mother-land and will struggle for defending their rights and liberation of Abkhazia by the all existing means and methods.
