In Abkhazia, Georgia, during the war in years 1992 - 1993 and thereafter the occupants unleashed the purposeful mass massacre of the peaceful Georgian population, claiming the lives of more than 5 000 absolutely innocent people. Relying on the support of the Russian Armed Forces the murderers mercilessly killed women and among them pregnant ones, as well as children, elderly, ill and disabled.
There cannot be found the analogue of the tragedy of Abkhazia, for its scale and barbaric cruelty, in post world war II Europe. The Parliament of Georgia considering the corresponding decisions, made by OSCE, assessed it as the ethnic cleansing - the genocide. The tragedy of Abkhazia continues even today, though different forms and the occupants with syndrome of impunity hide behind.
On October 5th 2016 the IDP’s and Refugees from Abkhazia will cherish the loving memory of the peaceful population –the victims of the ethnic cleansing.
