Tamaz Khubua: "Separatists purposefully are destroying the tracks of Georgia in Abkhazia"

Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Tamaz Khubua evaluates the statement of de facto leader of Sukhumi Ankvab about the restoration church in the village of Gudauta district as the next trying of destroying historical monuments.

"The decision on the restoration of the Georgian Church of the 10th century, situated in the village Lyhny of Gudauta region, initiated by the marionettes regime, is no more than a continuation of politics by a systematic and purposeful destruction of the Georgian territory of Abkhazia on the trail" - said T. Khubua.

"The action of the separatists was possible. Despite repeated statements by the Georgian side to protect the Georgian monuments and cultural heritage in the occupied territory of Abkhazia, the passive position of UNESCO and other political, humanitarian and human rights of international organizations on this issue is extreme surprise. Perhaps the temple actually needs the restoration, but it's going to happen with the participation of Georgian and foreign experts, and not only by Russian. The international community should provide adequate happening and, most importantly, suppressed such facts in the occupied territories of Abkhazia "- said T. Khubua.
