7th on March, is the birthday of National Hero of Georgia, chairman of the Council of Ministers of Abkhazia Zhiuli Shartava. Members of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia honored and laid a wreath on his grave.

Zhiuli Shartava, was appointed chairman of the Council of Ministers of Abkhazia in late July 1993. September 27, 1993, the day of the fall of Sukhumi Zhiuli Shartava the last minutes remained in the city. Zhiuli Shartava together with like-minded members of the Council of Ministers and was captured by the separatists and their mercenaries, and then shot. Later, his body was handed over to the Georgian side. In 2004 Zhiuli Shartava was awarded the Order of National Hero posthumously.
