Open letter to the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili

Mr. President,

The Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia is extremely surprised by your interview given on March 23 of this year on the air "Imedi", in which you said that the former so-called Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia owned a restaurant in Tbilisi, on the waterfront, "Rike".

Declare in own responsibility, that neither the former nor the current legitimate structure of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia never owned any restaurant. The only thing that we are linked to the above location, a specially reserved area town hall, in which we, during the celebration of "Tbilisoba" make "Abkhazian corner". In this area functioned "Abkhazian patskha" which employed refugees from Abkhazia. How can we explain the fact that you mentioned the so-called government of Abkhazia?

Public of Abkhazia, willy-nilly, your words "so-called" links to your relationship with the most important and extremely painful for our country Abkhazian problem as evidenced among other things by the fact that for the first 9 years of your presidency you with the deputies of the Supreme Council met only once, and then after our persistent requests, the withdrawal of the Georgian Parliament elected from Abkhazia deputies.

And yet, we want to believe that it was just a text error and hope that you, Mr. President, do not just an explanation to the public of Abkhazia, but the whole of Georgia.

Well, then, how worthy of your adjective "so-called" community of Abkhazia and its exiled government, time and history'll take his place in the Fair Georgia.

The Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia

Tbilisi, 26 March 2013.
