The Government and the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia expressed condolences to the families of those killed in Afghanistan 3 Georgian soldiers Corporal Alexander Kvitsinadze, Corporal Vladimir Shanava and junior sergeant Zviad Davitadze. The incident occurred on 13th of May during a rebel attack on a base of Georgian soldiers, located in the province of Helmand.
