Deputies from the A/R of Abkhazia took part in meeting of the temporary parliamentary commission on restoration of territorial integrity of Georgia


The temporary parliamentary commission on restoration of territorial integrity held special meeting on which the facts of genocide and ethnic cleaning of the Georgian population were considered during armed conflict in Abkhazia in 1992-1993 and after it. At the same time, participants of meeting heard to audio recordings of eyewitnesses of those events.


Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia took part in meeting.


According to the chairman of the temporary parliamentary commission on restoration of territorial integrity of Georgia Shota Malashkhia search of eyewitnesses of those tragic events and also collection of information in the above-stated facts was carried out before and in the future will be carried out together with procurator’s office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.


«These materials are very important for us as in the future they will be sent in the international Law-court. The international community should know about the crimes made by the Russian Federation and a separatist mode against the Georgian people, and responsible for the made should incur strict punishment» - declared Sh. Malashkhia.


In turn, deputies of the Supreme Council declared that the infringement of the rights of the Georgian population in the territory of the occupied Abkhazia occurs nowadays as well and the international community should state a legal assessment to the happening events. Besides, was offered joint preparation of the relevant document which will be sent to representatives of the international organizations prosecuting subjects of protection of human rights and heads of diplomatic missions.
