"My soul belongs to God, the heart - the motherland, and the ashes of what you want, and proceed..." - in honor of the 150th anniversary of the author of the famous words of St. Ambrose the Confessor (Helaya) focused event, held on 3th of April in the Sukhumi State University, at which they discussed a major monograph Member of Supreme Council of Abkhazia Professor Jemal Gamakharia - "Holy Confessor Ambrose (Helaya).

 

"Metropolitans Peter Tsaava and Anania Japaridze blessed event, after which the discussion of the book was attended by senior scientists: Sergo Vardosanidze, Eldar Bubulashvili, Gogi Gachechiladze, Vazha Kiknadze, Tariel Putkaradze, Lia Akhaladze and others.

 

Professor Zurab Papaskiri thanked the Supreme Council of the A/R of Abkhazia for support, which is permanently held similar events. According to him, the university and the public of Abkhazia from 1984 are in the vanguard of the struggle for the territorial integrity of Georgia and are the heirs of the Holy Confessor Ambrose (Helaya). He fought against the Russification policies and against those who incited the Abkhazians on Georgian. Unfortunately, the victims of this policy has been the population of Abkhazia and this time.

 

According to T. Putkaradze, to make a documentary about the Holy Confessor Ambrose, who will tell the next generation about his life and asceticism.

 

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia Tamaz Khubua noted that the history of Georgia dates and such years as the representatives of the arts became national heroes.
