On the 31th of May at the initiative of the Supreme Council of the A/R of Abkhazia and the Georgian National Committee of Historians at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia organized the book presentation - "Assays from the History of Georgia. Abkhazia from ancient times till the present days". The book was Published in three languages in Georgian, Russian and English with the financial support of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. The authors of the book are scientists, under the guidance of historians, professors, such as Jemal Gamakharia, Teimuraz Gvantseladze and Tamaz Beradze.
At an event were attended the Chairman of Georgian parliamentary Commission on Territorial Integrity Shota Malashkhia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Elguja Gvazava, Chairman of the National Committee of Historians Georgia Roin Metreveli, famous scientists etc.
As stated at the presentation of the chief editor of the book, Professor Jemal Gamakharia: "The aim is to highlight authors mainly ethnic-political history of the modern territory of Abkhazia, a reasoned refutation of the conclusions of the separatists - counterfeiters. The main arguments are the same Georgian and foreign historical sources, which is full of information from this work. "
According to Jemal Gamakharia, the book - "Assays from the History of Georgia. Abkhazia from ancient times till the present days" has already passed the Library of Congress of the United States and sent to the relevant agencies in England, Italy, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Work in this direction will also continue in the future.
One of the characteristics of the study is also in the fact that it has complex character. We used the latest scientific achievements of historians and archaeologists, specialists in historical geography, church architecture, as well as linguists, anthropologists, demographers and anthropologists.
The authors of the study stated that the work does not have any relation to the development and implementation of current policies, as well as to questions of the future status of Abkhazia. The aim of this work is only the restoration of historical truth. The authors express their willingness to cooperate with the Abkhazian colleagues in future.
