On the 24th of August of the current year in the occupied Abkhazia are called the so-called presidential elections.
The international commonwealth, the whole civilized world, did not recognize and will never recognize such “elections”, as the aim of this act is legalization of the overwhelming results of the permanent ethnic clearing, being achieved through the barbaric methods. It has nothing in common with the global democratic process and free will of the population. According to the data, the majority from the 73% of the legal population of Abkhazia is ethnical Georgians, but they are IDP’s and cannot participate in the elections. It is natural, that the existing conditions are not optimal for the legitimate elections.
The situation is becoming more aggravated by the regular, extremely discriminating, anti -human recent steps being undertaken through violating the elementary legal norms by the occupational regime of Abkhazia. We mean, deprivation under the fake pretext of the right of participation in the de facto elections and consequently social –political life of the Georgians living on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. Simultaneously, on the 21st of July of the current year the illegitimate parliament of Abkhazia gave to the “central election committee” the right of opening of the voting stations abroad for the compactly living Abkhazians. Opening of such stations is primarily meant in the towns of the Occupant State in Moscow and Cherkessk. Opening of one voting station is also planned in Istanbul.
The Supreme Council of Abkhazia is expressing its great concert with reference to this fact. It strongly believes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will do its best to restrict the activities of the de-facto, occupation authorities on the international arena. We also hope, that one of the leading States of the world, committed to the democratic values and our friend - Turkey will stay loyal to the widely recognized norms of the international laws and traditional good-neighborly principles being established between the two States and will not allow performance of the humbling the Sovereignty of the Georgian State election comedy-show on its territory.
